The Pre Frontal Cortex is known as the CEO of the brain ðŸ§
It’s up regulation means more creativity, rationality, learning, more skilful communication, happiness, empathy, self awareness, problem solving and critical thinking.
It’s short term down regulation means, poor decision making, reactivity, negative emotion, doing what’s urgent over important, falling back on bad habits, poor social skills, loss of empathy, poor sleep, increased impulsivity.
It’s frequent down regulation can be indicated by constipation, gas or diarrhoea.
Lack of sexually intimacy. Frequent experience anxiety, worry or inability to relax.
Feeling sad, depressed, lonely. Constantly low energy. Very little exercise. Constantly yawning, gasping, mouth breathing
Difficulty falling asleep. Waking up during the night and struggling to get back to sleep. Waking in the night to pee. Waking up tired no matter how long you’ve slept. Waking up with joint pain and stiffness.
More quick to anger and frustration than used to be. Feeling judged or criticised by those around you. People pleasing or avoiding people. Having a lot of arguments.
Excess fat storage. Regularly comfort eating or drink, smoking. Regular colds, illness or stomach pains. Physical aches and pains.
Having difficulty focussing. Constantly urgency. Difficulty separating from phone. Often dehydrated despite drinking water. Poor memory.
The longer term effects of this are neuro degenerative and chronic disease 🦠although symptoms begin in 30-40’s
These are all SIDE EFFECTS of the problem rather than the actual problem. Of course they are a problem if you have them but treating them doesn’t fix the problem.
