If you’ve ever felt a fear and the thought you put to it was that you shouldn’t be here, that you aren’t good enough to be doing what you’re about to do, then you’ll know what imposter syndrome is intended to describe.
It’s strange that it’s been given a label as if it’s something you own or are but its presences can be a good sign.
What first triggered it was your mammalian brain drawing attention to the fact that you are indeed different to other people.
You look, dress, act, value, belief and have talents different to everyone else on the planet.
The mammalian brain finds that threatening. It wants to blend in, round of your edges, be the same as everyone else.
Or just a little better perhaps.
The presence of the fear is an indicator that you have managed to resist that and maintain your unique weirdness.
Start building more certainty around your weirdness, start sharing more of your weirdness and you’ll start to fear less and enjoy more.
