The best route to results
The most amazing thing happened yesterday,
Christina rode our new Christiania bike to school with Sophia in it for the first time so I followed behind.
It's a 6 mile trip in and you do work up quite a sweat, but the pure joy on Christina's face when we arrived was amazing. She absolutely loved it.
Humans spend a lot of time searching for the best tool. The THING that will get them the best result, most quickly, with the least effort.
We are wired to find short cuts, it's human nature.
The error in thinking that we make is that the short cut is found in the tool.
We've been trying to bottle the wrong thing.
The thing we need to bottle, is joy.
Joy wired to experience is what condenses time or time perception.
Joy wired to experience is what leads to discipline and repetition.
Joy wired to experience is what leads to perseverance through the dips.
Joy wired to experience is what leads to progresses which leads to more joy and results.
There are two ways to find your joy.
The first is in your stories, Christina has always wanted to be one of those mums who cycles her children to school. She has a story of who she is or wants to be associated with the action.
I love skills, I love adding creative flair to physical movement, I always have.
What are your stories, who do you want to be?
The second is in permission, give yourself permission to try things out and dump them fast if they don't bring you joy. Stop judging yourself because YOU don't work just say, this wasn't for me, and move on to the next.
Let joy guide your choices and your progress.
The most fun route will always feel like the fastest
