Leadership Lies

When I talk of leadership I mean both leadership of self as well as others. We operate from our beliefs whether navigating our own way or helping another so I see them as one and the same.

I first noticed this phenomenon in 2004.

Nobody really sees themselves as a victim or as playing the victim

I certainly didn’t anyway,

I would read about playing the victim in personal development books and I’d just skim over it thinking it wasn’t for me.

Stop calling it procrastination and just tell the absolute truth

There is a temptation to play amateur psychologist

To diagnose their behaviour.

We want to reduce them to cause and effect.

When success means winning the game you’ve opened yourself up to a roller coaster of stress

When the process didn’t produce the predicted result you’re behind, losing, a loser.

Each mistake, error, ignorance or incompetence is met with anger and frustration as all was not what you expected or hoped for
