What would you do if you had £10 million?
It's one of my favourite coaching questions. It frees you from getting caught up in the day to day.
We hang on so much to what we believe is possible for us based on our past that we restrict our futures.
This question takes us to a dream land where anything is possible. ish.
The interesting thing is that once the speed boat and the holiday and nice clothes and the Aston Martin are bought.
Most people describe a life of freedom, a life or more connection, a life where they more often do the things they love to do. I life where they do something for a living that really fulfils them, something where they can make a difference.
They describe a life that they could make huge strides towards living without the money and likely get there in 5 years or less.
But having worked with clients who have the £££ I can tell you that money doesn't guarantee this life.
Money is merely an accelerant, it more rapidly moves us towards the life we are heading towards.
It pours fuel on the fire of our thoughts, words and actions.
If we get clear on who we want to be and what we want to have and do then work out what steps we need to take to make that happen, we can start now.
If the money comes then great, we are heading in the right direction anyway, the money can super charge our efforts.
But it's not a problem solver, it's an accelerant.
