That’s where it starts.
So I say,
“If I said - you have a habit getting overwhelmed, would that still be what you’re saying?”
She says yes.
Which is great because she’s recognising that she OWNS the pattern. It’s not just happening too her.
Then I says,
“If I said - you have a habit of CREATING overwhelm, would that still be what you’re saying?”
And she says yes, which is great because it means that not only does she own it but she’s actively creating it and that which you can create you can stop creating.
Like spaghetti bolognese.
So then the next step is for us to accurately pinpoint all of the ingredients, missing nothing out.
Now we have moved her overwhelm from something that is happening to her to something that she has to consciously create.
This is great progress. That’s the power of coaching. To move you from living the effect of your life to making you the cause of your experience.
