Do you never have enough time as a CEO

There never seems to be enough time

Everything takes too long

People don’t move fast enough

Every moment that passes you feel further behind

The to do list just gets longer and you never get the chance to rest

The problem is that you’re stuck in efficiency mode which actively works against your brain.

Imagine this, you want some time to relax. You just need to get the kids to bed first.

You tell them to get ready for bed.

You keep repeating yourself.

You start racing your voice.

Creating urgency.

You start to get frustrated as they start to actively work against you (an instinctive response to the removal of freedom).

The result tonight - your stress hormones are up and so are this kids so they are in the exact wrong state to fall asleep.

The net effect - you resent bed times, their brain and nervous system learn to prepare to be alert at bed times.

Efficiency = inefficiency because it builds the habit of stress and resentment not speed.

Effectiveness is solution

You create an environment for sleep.

The smell of lavender

Quiet, low and slow talking

Turn off overhead lights

You get ready for bed with them

You avoid all pressure you just support and remain present.

Bedtime becomes a joy for you and your kids.

Their brains naturally prepare to wind down and become sleepy.

The time the routine takes becomes shorter and shorter as it becomes habitual.

This is effectiveness.

Slow is smooth, smooth is fast

This can be applied to everything.

Where could you apply this in your life?
