you wake up in the morning and you feel however you normally feel.
you wake up in the morning and you feel however you normally feel.
Your morning follows a relatively standard routine. Perhaps phone checking, shower, getting dressed, connecting with your family, eating breakfast, your coffee, your trip to work, your work routines, your lunch, your standard energy levels for the afternoon, your return home, your family time, some relaxation in the evening before bed.
Basically your standard day and all the standard feelings.
This is what we call hedonic tone.
Let’s call it a 3
Something good happens and it goes up by 6 and we are a 9 for a little while but we quickly return to a 3.
Something bad happens and it goes down 6 and we are a -3 but we quickly return to a 3.
This place is fine of course but it’s a tough place to create new habits or break old ones.
The bad stuff takes us really low causing us to seek quick pick me ups and most of our actions are on autopilot.
Our actions are a product of our thoughts
Our thoughts are a product of our feelings (tone)
Our feelings are a product of our environment
The easiest way to change our actions is to upgrade our environment.
Home, office, routes we travel, clothes we wear, books we read, music, who we interact with…
Upgrade your environment and the hedonic tone can be raised to a 6 - everything gets easier when we upgrade our environment
