Practising discomfort

It's been raining most of the day today, I just picked up Sophia from nursery with her bike.

We laughed most of the way home as we both got pretty soaked.

I've always loved the rain. I love the smell of the air when it rains after it's been dry for a long time.

I love how green all the trees and plants look.

I love the sound that it makes, it reminds me of camping or hanging out in my friends conservatory growing up.

For me rain is Hyyge.

I count myself lucky in that, I've never looked at the weather forecast.

Many people though, are trained to let the weather dictate their actions.

"Not today it's too wet"
"Not today it's too cold"

Too dark, too early, too late, too expensive, too much competition, too hard, too complicated, too tired, too unfit, too weak, too busy,

We get conditioned to become seekers of comfort.

We become trained to not act unless conditions are perfect.

I know this because we don't start that way, as children we just want to act.

We act and make adjustments or learn different approaches based on consequences but we continue to want to act.

Learn to act again,
Become a doer,
Embrace discomfort,

By all means, put a coat on, but stop waiting for fair weather,

It's not coming

Ever
