Re-imagine how things could be...
I work on holiday
When I said goodbye to opening hours and location dependency back in 2017 and I started to re-imagine how I wanted things to be.
Moving to Denmark really helped with this too.
It’s incredible how many things that are in plain sight that you consider to be immovable fact.
Then you move to a new country and discover that they do many things completely differently and the world somehow keeps on spinning.
This realisation has made me far more curious and far less quick to draw conclusions from what my clients are telling me.
The construct of time on and time off was one of those things for me.
I wanted to drop my kids at school and pick them up as often as my wife.
I wanted to spend time with them when they were off.
I want to take random days off and just read, walk, paddle board, spend the day with my wife.
I also love coaching, don’t need to re-charge and love the freedom to be anywhere I want.
I also want to be wildly successful too.
I also spent a lot of time with clients in the Uk who ran flat out all year and then took a couple of 1-2 week full stops.
I saw it do them no favours at all with crazy months leading up to breaks during which they would either get sick or spend the break recovering.
I had an amazing coaching session yesterday sat on my balcony, in France just watching the mountains and nature, yes, while on holiday.
I’ve written this before the kids wake up while I drink a coffee and watch the sunrise over the mountains.
Now I’m heading down the mountain to lake Geneva for a paddle board tour.
The prescribed life, the normal life really doesn’t have to be how it is.
There is so much more that we can re-imagine. What needs re-imagining in your life?
