What if?

What if the brain
isn’t a collection of
memories, experiences,
and faults.

What if the brain was
a receptor merely learning
lessons every day about
what it doesn’t want and
what it does?

What if just like a metal
detector it comes to
life in the presences of
the thoughts, words
actions and environments
that bring it joy?

Would we lose the idea
of what should work?

Would we lose the idea
that the detector was
somehow flawed?

What if our mission
here on earth was to
bring our receptor to
life and then share our
joy with the world?

That might sound
woo woo but if you
think about it.

Those people who do
the work that brings
them most joy are
compelling in a way
that is infectious.

They change the
energy of a whole
building as if their
reception fills what
ever area it is in.

Those people who
exercise and eat in
a way that brings
them joy inspire us
in a way that moves
us to change our lives.

Those people who have
found joy in all that they
do release the joy within
us in a way that drowns
out the inner dialogue
and brings us into
presence.

Maybe our mission is
the same as everyone
else’s.

Maybe our mission isn’t
to serve others.

Maybe our mission is to
light our own world and
then shine ever brighter
and then let that light
infect the world.

I’m not being naïve here.

I’m not suggesting pure
hedonism. We know that
doesn’t bring joy.

I’m suggesting, if only for
a short while. Turning from
the never ending supply
of advice and other peoples
ideas.

I’m suggesting doing the more
challenging work of creating
your own judgements,
your own yardsticks,
your own rules.
your own operating principles.

Perhaps starting with a problem you’ve faced and are likely to face again.

Funding was stress this time around.

Why?

What steps did I take?

How will I do it differently next time?

Life is a process of creation.

The question is,

How consciously will you create it?
