He was going through the motions.

The realisation hit him like a brick to the face.

Coach’s tend to call it an A HA! Moment. It’s a moment of realisation where you can literally feel a change.

The fog of the subject clears and you study have crystal clarity in the subject.

Over the coming weeks and months everything would change for him.

He went from 70 hour weeks down to 25

The team would go from being over stretched to actually inviting more work.

The business would have its record year inside 8 months.

The team, especially the women would start vocalising their appreciation of the change in his leadership style.

Rewind a few weeks, we started working together because a sense of meaninglessness had crept in to his life.

He was going through the motions.

Business was business.

He got the job done but he didn’t feel a sense of connection to it.

I heard him say this phrase ‘business is business’ a couple of times in our first meeting at a cafe in Østerbro.

I could see what need to be done.

Business is NOT just business, business is always PERSONAL.

I can still remember his light bulb moment.

“Woh, People don’t care about anything BUT their feelings.”

From then on he started leading with that in mind.

The question he kept asking was, how do they need to FEEL in order to solve this?

Ok, it’s impossible to have an epiphany on someone else’s behalf so those words might not have changed anything for you.

It’s rare someone else words ever do.

But from that moment on his whole life and business changed and it’s been a pleasure being a part of it.
