BURNOUT is often caused by the constant use of WILLPOWER

When you think about it, what willpower really means is,

I don’t want to do that.

This can often seem like a leaders job at times.

What it means though is that you are having to overcome internal resistance to do the work.

This is exhausting and leaves little energy for home life and will soon lead to resisting going to work.

Burnout is the body saying no on your mouths behalf.

So ultimately willpower is not the most effective path.

Yes, of course willpower is occasionally necessary.

But where there is willpower there is resistance, where there is resistance there is no learning, where there is no learning there is no mastery, where there is no mastery we require more and more time and effort to create the same result.

When we use SKILLPOWER however, (that is we see the objective and decide how to use our strengths and those things we most enjoy to create the desired outcome).

It might not be the BEST path but where there is enjoyment there is increased repetition and learning, where there is increased learning and repetition there is mastery, where there is mastery there is less and less time and effort required to create the desired result.

How much willpower are you applying from day to day?
