If you have an interest in getting yourself to consistently do the things that are important to you it’s incredibly important.

What it teaches us is that the brain is like a battery.

It is constantly asking, is what I am about to do worth the effort?

Given the amount of energy I have right now, is it worth… ?

- this difficult conversation
- the workout
- Cooking over takeaway
- Running the meeting properly
- Getting off the sofa
- Not giving into these craving

The brain categorises those things you are least skilled at, least knowledge about, most dislike doing, have failed at in the past, least able to predict the outcome of, as the MOST energy draining because they are perceived as threatening.

This is why people say that change is hard.

They never quite have the energy to be consistent. (Except for holidays perhaps)

The truth is that change IS hard because you are working against the brain 🧠

Transformation though isn’t hard, it simply requires a very specific set of steps to make the brain answer YES to the question

Is what I am about to do worth the effort?

YES to the question, do I have the energy?

YES to the question, is it safe?
