Start with why...

but then guard your energy.

By now very few business people haven't had some sort of interaction with Simon Sineks principle of 'Start with why'.

For your marketing, for your inspiration, for your motivation why is what makes you act and connect.

I believe that when we really drill down to it our why comes back to some version of, 'to make the world a better place.'

Our why never changes, the how constantly evolves based on our beliefs, experience, values and their evolution.

Our capacity to execute on our why is determined by the amount of energy we can put into it.

We don't struggle with health goals because it's too hard or because they are too big or because our circumstances stand in our way.

We struggle because they are too small, we grant them undo attention often to give our lives something to focus on. The affect is not that we end up dominating the particular challenge, it ends up dominating us.

We get caught up in the thick of thin things. In the absence of a defined purpose one finds us. We cannot not try and fix something, it's our nature.

My advice:

Forget about the how to live and discover the why and put all your energies there. Then your decisions are easier.

Will this give me more energy for my cause, yes or no.
