My danish health plan
One of the big incentives for this move was being able to fully embrace the health life I want to.
Sort of ancient physicality on purpose.
Not that I couldn't have done the same in the uk, but for me the sea plays a part in how I would love to do it.
We have evolved in a world very different to the one we currently inhabit.
Sure it's awesome that we have much better shelter now, more consistent food and we discovered that washing hands before surgery thing.
But there are down sides too.
We don't get outdoors enough anymore.
We don't spend enough time looking a long way anymore.
We weaken our immune systems by not challenging our bodies to regulate there own temperature.
We don't physically stress our bodies enough with constantly varied demands.
The surfaces we walk on are smooth so our balance disappears along with our flexibility.
We are constantly bombarded by noise.
Our food is too rich in salt, fat and sugar so we miss the subtleties in quality food and we are addicted to the rich stuff.
We are sensorily either over or under stimulated which leads to atrophy or overuse issues.
Today, and I hope weekly I (we) went to the sea, walking barefoot on the rocks and went in the sea and froze my arse off.
Felt alive after though.
Brain stimulation + immune system challenged.
Tomorrow thought,
Ikea.
Wish me luck
