I wake up this morning feeling like two separate entities

A smiling happy brain and a battered, bruised body with immune system in over drive.

An over consumption of histamines followed by sleeping in a very dry log cabin made for a rough night sleep with cold symptoms and difficulty breathing.

Our holiday house carries with it holiday behaviours like too many pastries and beer.

Nothing excessive but I've had a fragile immune system all my life, part hereditary and part product of a poor diet growing up I think.

A clue as to why I spend so much time helping people to improve theirs I guess.

The "my body doesn't work like yours so I can't do you what you do" is a difficult story to tell yourself or it can be.

Oh, I also spent the evening in hospital.

Having spent 2 days chopping down trees one of my many cuts and blisters appeared to have come with a little blood poisoning.

The suggestion from the jaded mid-Copenhagen Doctor that I was perhaps a drug addict at least gave me a chance to practise my queens english.

Oh, and I might have a belly button hernia.

Doctor "try and stay calm so that you don't die in the night then go to your GP in the morning."

Lol. So I have antibiotics although I'm resisting them for now because the blood test said there was no infection.

I at least got to feel like wolverine for a moment.

All in all quite the 48 hours.

What's happening is just what's happening, how you react to it is up to you.

It's always tempting as a health coach to pretend everything is always perfect but that's just not the human experience.

At the same time,

If I've fallen down a hole, I don't want someone who stands above the hole yelling down advice they read in a text book.

I want someone who can jumped down with me and say

"Don't panic, I know the way out."

If you're struggling with health right now, accepting it is the first step to changing it.
