Go back to what you know

Tuesday we started cycling to get Annabelle from a school

It's 6 miles away but we don't have to hit a single road in that time which is incredible.

The practicalisation of movement is definitely something we could all benefit from giving some thought to I think.

Copenhagen certainly makes that easier than many places.

One of my clients lives about 10 miles outside of Bath but works in Bristol.

He drives half way, parks for free and then takes a Brompton out of his boot and cycles the rest of the way.

Such a great way to bookend the day.

I have coaching calls during the day so I try to walk during these, I can just make notes on my phone as I go when necessary.

I've have a number of clients who take a stroll for 30 minutes after lunch and the difference has been incredible.

More energy ie no afternoon slump.

Fat loss due to improved digestion.

Better health due to vitamin D which is only available in the middle of the day.

Every little step we take towards how we evolved to live always delivers a disproportionate return.

We've created a separation between movement and food and sleep and psychological well-being and health but the truth is that they are all part of the same thing.

We are a brain and a nervous system not the pile of muscle and bones.

Stimulate the brain with a return to how and why and the environment in which it evolved will pay massive rewards in mental and physical health and performance.

Think of it as putting a fish back in the sea.
