Caught up in drama

School starts at 8am here which means I get on my bike at 7:20am and I'm home by about 8:30am to start work.

Our challenge at the moment is getting Annabelle awake early enough to get her there.

Actually it's not,

It's getting her to bed early enough so that she wakes up naturally in time.

Actually it's not,

It's finishing eating dinner early enough so that she has enough time to make getting ready for bed a smooth relaxing, unwinding process.

Actually it's not,

It's knowing how long each meal takes to create so that we can prepare and have it on the table in good time.

To generalise, it's organisation.

Doing what's boring, measuring timing of meals, making sure decisions are made in advance. Knowing when shopping needs to be done. Knowing when we need to turn the oven on.

Success in anything whether its a diet or running a business or having a low stress family life isn't about the sliver bullet or the magic formula.

It's often just about organisation. Measuring the right things and then being consistent with what works.

Stress, emotion, struggle, frustration, procrastination they are all the drama we create because we are avoiding the boring job of collecting the data.
