On quitting
Giving up is the result of the thought
I'm not good enough, is the result of
Disappointment at not achieving your goal
Is the result of false expectations.
I write this from experience not from a text book,
I write this as a note to self.
Running a business is tough, sometimes you get caught up in the crazy idea of what you 'deserve.'
"I worked hard at this, people should buy it"
I apply to this context but it works for health too...
Obviously giving up isn't good when you're running a business or a life but it doesn't present like that.
It's looks more like procrastination or busyness.
Being too busy to do the ONE thing that you really need or want to do to grow.
It's comes from a fear of judgement,
"What will people think of me if I try and fail?"
So instead we avoid the trying.
It's funny though, it all stems from false thought.
"People will buy this because I made it."
"I will sell out with one ad"
"I will lose loads of weight in a few days"
"This will be the best presentation ever"
"Everything will happen exactly as I think it will"
"I'll fix my sleep, my stress, my pain with this little change"
It's so false thought that if we said it out loud to ourselves we'd know it was crazy.
Growth is a product of confidence and action and confidence and action are a product of
realistic expectations.
