Why I quit the gym after just 3 weeks

One of the first things I did when I moved here was join a gym.

As far as I can tell there are no independent gyms here.

Even all of the Crossfit gyms seem to be owned by one guy.

Anyway, I joined a Crossfit,

they let you just train on your own too
so I didn't need to get injured competing either 🤣;)

I went about 8 times and really enjoyed it...

It was only about 15 minutes out of my way so with a 30 minute workout I only lost 1 hour and 15 minute 3-4 times a week.

Just over perhaps.

Add in a shower and getting changed.

1.30 hours.

It took me 3 weeks to lose the "only."

That's almost a full days work per week.

So I trade it in.

I either do 15 minutes straight out of bed

or

15 minutes at the beach gym on my way home from the school run.

I do this every day,

I gain the daily energising effect and I don't feel like I've lost any time at all.

I am a gym bunny...

No... rat... that sounds more masculine...

But the fact is,

Convenience is top of the list when
it comes to creating a habit.

If it's not convenient, it's not going to happen.

We might go out of our way a few times but the moment it feels like we aren't using our time as best we could...

The excuses will start coming thick and fast.

Often we see them as just that, excuses.

I prefer to trust my gut.

I call them reasons.

Ultimately, if I'm creating excuses it's because I don't want to do it.

Why would I do something I don't want to do when I will get better result doing something I do want to do?
